The programme will showcase the power of new research approaches, from human genetics and big data analytics to liver organoids and engineered tissues, and examine how these tools are transforming translational hepatology. Sessions will explore the molecular mechanisms underlying steatotic liver disease and MetALD, while addressing the challenges of translating findings from preclinical models into human disease. The general hepatology track brings together key topics that span liver diseases and everyday clinical practice, offering practical insights to help you navigate complex patient needs. Discover the latest approaches to non-invasive fibrosis screening, including who should be screened, how to implement screening pathways and where these strategies can have the greatest impact. 

Explore advances in portal vein recanalisation, with expert perspectives on indications, techniques and outcomes, and strengthen your approach to the management of haemochromatosis with a practical look at the key do’s and don’ts. The programme will also highlight the importance of symptom-focused and patient-centred care, with dedicated sessions on palliative hepatology and the management of sleep and pain in advanced liver disease. The immune-mediated and cholestatic diseases track will take you to the forefront of advances in PBC, PSC, AIH and rare cholestatic disorders. Discover how precision medicine and new mechanistic insights are shaping the future of care, from emerging therapeutic targets in PSC to personalised approaches in AIH and the expanding frontiers of genetic cholestasis. 

The programme will also address the practical challenges faced in daily clinical practice, with sessions on clinical decision-making in PBC, optimising outcomes in AIH, PSC-IBD management and the diagnosis and management of IgG4-related cholangitis and other biliary diseases. Explore strategies for the early identification of PSC and the surveillance and management of malignancy risk across autoimmune and cholestatic liver diseases. The liver transplantation and surgery track will explore the latest innovations and practical challenges across the transplant and surgical journey. Discover new approaches to longstanding challenges in liver transplantation, with insights into machine perfusion and its evolving applications, as well as the potential of xenogeneic livers in acute, acute-on-chronic and chronic liver failure. 

The programme will also tackle complex clinical scenarios, from managing PSC in the transplant setting to preparing patients with cirrhosis for surgery and managing biliary strictures after liver transplantation. With collaborative sessions bringing together EASL, ELITA and ILTS perspectives, this track offers a multidisciplinary view of how advances in technology, surgical practice and transplantation can translate into improved care for patients with advanced liver disease.

The liver tumours track will take you to the forefront of advances in the diagnosis, surveillance and management of liver tumours. Discover the latest strategies for hepatocellular carcinoma, from future directions in HCC surveillance and recent therapeutic advances to the challenges of managing patients with impaired liver function. 

Explore the biology driving liver cancer, with insights into molecular drivers and the tumour microenvironment and their implications for new therapeutic approaches. The programme will also address the practical management of cholangiocarcinoma, covering key considerations and common pitfalls, while broadening the focus beyond malignant disease with a dedicated session on benign liver tumours. Bringing together clinical and translational perspectives, this track offers an up-to-date view of the rapidly evolving liver tumour landscape. 

The metabolism, alcohol and toxicity track will bring you the latest advances in the diagnosis, prevention and management of steatotic liver disease, alcohol-related liver disease and drug-induced liver injury. Sessions will explore the rapidly evolving therapeutic landscape for MASH, including essential considerations before starting treatment and emerging therapies, alongside new approaches to cardiovascular risk management, advanced fibrosis screening and personalised care in MASLD. Practical discussions will address lifestyle interventions, including exercise and nutrition, as well as the specific challenges of managing MASLD in children. 

The track will also highlight advances in alcohol-related liver disease and MetALD, from improved diagnostics and clinical management to emerging therapeutic approaches for alcohol use disorder. Dedicated sessions on DILI will provide practical insights into diagnosis, causality assessment and the management of severe or refractory cases. Finally, translational and mechanistic sessions will explore how new biological insights, biomarkers and non-invasive approaches are transforming our understanding and management of steatotic liver disease. 

The public health track will explore how evidence, innovation and collaboration can translate into meaningful improvements in liver health at population level. From addressing the impact of alcohol-related harm to understanding how new antiviral therapies could transform population health, sessions will examine some of the major public health challenges and opportunities shaping the field. 

Discover new approaches to prevention and care for hidden and underserved populations, with a focus on health inequalities and closing public health blind spots. Hear directly from patients and advocates about successful partnerships across clinical care, research and public health, and explore how collaboration between international organisations can accelerate the implementation of sustainable liver health strategies for viral hepatitis in Europe and globally. The viral hepatitis track will take you to the forefront of the latest advances in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of viral hepatitis, while exploring the challenges that still stand in the way of elimination. Discover the latest thinking on HBV cure, including efforts to finally target cccDNA, and explore new approaches to HDV treatment aimed at achieving durable viral control. 

The programme will also tackle challenging clinical scenarios in HBV and provide an essential update on hepatitis E, equipping you with practical knowledge for everyday clinical practice.
